Dean, School of Information Studies
Rajiv “Raj” Dewan was named Dean in January 2020. He previously served as the Xerox Professor of Business and the Director of the Master of Science Program at the University of Rochester’s Simon Business School. Dewan held numerous administrative positions at Simon, as well as being a full-time faculty member in the area of computers and information systems. He was the Senior Associate Dean for Faculty and Research (2009-2014), Faculty Director of Graduate Programs (2007-2009) and the Chair of the Ph.D. program (2007-2012). Dewan also taught at the Kellogg School of Northwestern University from 1987 to 1994.
Dewan’s teaching and research interests include business analytics, organizational issues in management of information systems, marketing on the internet, the internet industry, strategic use of technology, the use of standards in managing information systems, and accounting and financial information systems. His papers have appeared in the Journal of Computing, Management Science, Decision Support Systems and IEEE Transactions on Computers, among other journals.
