Continuing Our Work

Dear Orange Friends:

Great universities have an inclusive and diverse learning, living, and working environment, and a campus and community that reflect openness, fairness, and equality for all. This is something that has to be worked at every day.

As part of that work at Syracuse, the University is currently in the process of assessing how each one of us experiences the current campus climate. One of the most important ways we are doing that is through a comprehensive campuswide survey. The survey was specifically created for the University by Susan Rankin, an expert in this field and nationally recognized for her work. The survey, which takes about 20 minutes to complete, is open to all students, faculty, and staff (18 years and older).

I hope you will take some time out of your day to respond to the survey and share your thoughts and opinions about these important issues. The research survey includes questions about both positive and challenging aspects of the campus climate. It is your opportunity to describe your experiences, your observations, and offer suggestions for change that can make the Syracuse University experience even better.

Be assured: All of your answers will remain confidential and will be reported in group form only. You will not be identifiable as an individual. The survey is available here online  and also in paper-and-pencil form at the information desks at the Schine and Goldstein student centers and other locations on campus. Additional information about the survey, including details on some fun prizes for participating, is available at survey.syr.edu . If you have detailed questions, Libby Barlow, Director of the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment, can assist you. She may be reached at 315-443-5966 or eabarlow@syr.edu.

Together, we will continue to build on our successes and tackle new challenges. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this vital project.

Sincerely,
