Senior Vice President of Business Development
Daniel P. Dillon Jr. is the Senior Vice President of Business Development and a seasoned executive with deep expertise in brand strategy, marketing leadership, and organizational growth across higher education, consumer products, and hospitality.
Prior to his current role, Dillon served as Vice President of Marketing at the University of South Carolina, where he led the strategic development of the institution’s brand and oversaw marketing across digital and traditional channels. He also served as Vice President of Marketing and Senior Advisor to the President at the University of Florida, where he created a franchised marketing model and a proprietary brand tracker to monitor institutional brand health.
From 2019 to 2024, Dillon was Chief Executive Officer of ASU Enterprise Partners, a nonprofit organization supporting Arizona State University through fundraising, venture capital, real estate, and technology commercialization. Under his leadership, the organization managed over $1.8 billion in assets and generated $350 million annually in new gifts and commitments.
Earlier in his career, Dillon served as Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Arizona State University, where he led a 150+ person internal agency focused on performance marketing and enterprise partnerships. He was instrumental in driving $900 million in annual revenue for ASU Online and negotiated a $39 million pouring rights agreement with Coca-Cola—the largest of its kind in the U.S.
Dillon’s corporate experience includes executive roles at Ruby Tuesday Inc., Bloomin’ Brands (Outback Steakhouse), The Coca-Cola Company, ConAgra, H.J. Heinz, Mead Johnson, Nabisco, Keebler, and General Mills. He led the launch of Coke Zero, which became one of Coca-Cola’s top global brands, and revitalized Ruby Tuesday’s brand, reversing a decade-long decline in traffic and sales.
Dillon earned his MBA from Bentley College and his BA from St. Anselm College. He has served on numerous boards including ASU Enterprise Partners, InStride, Cintana Education, and the Barrow Neurological Foundation.
